Students, Parents, and Guardians of Orangefield Jr. High School:
Welcome to your school. It is a school with a tradition steeped in academic excellence, built on the hard work and honorable accomplishments of those who came before you. For many of you, “those who came before you” include not only older siblings but also parents---such is the rich Orangefield Jr. High heritage.
Your Challenge is not only to maintain the tradition of academic excellence, but also to build upon it. While this is certainly a daunting task, it is also a doable task. It is doable because of the peerless support system you have in your friends, the Orangefield Jr. High School staff, and the community as a whole. All will play an integral part in your school years.
We urge you to squeeze as much out of these years as possible. You are blessed to have excellent teachers; learn all you can from them. Also, join a club that matches your interests; confront the challenge of UIL literary competition; learn to appreciate the music programs; and be a part of the teamwork in athletics, cheerleading, or drill team. Never forget however, that the school’s tradition is built on academic excellence, and it is academics that must come first. To put anything else first would be to build your house on sand.
The vision of Orangefield Junior High is to promote an environment where teachers and students work collaboratively to achieve academic success. We have a student enrollment of approximately 580 students. We believe in a positive and safe learning environment that promotes success on and off campus. Our staff of highly qualified professionals takes pride in developing lifelong learners that will succeed in high school and enrich our community.
A note about your daily conduct: simply treat other people as you wish to be treated, and respect the property of other people. If that is done, harmony will result.
